Hundreds of colleges and high schools have granted academic credit for Outward Bound expeditions in our 40+ years of operation. You can receive academic credit through our partner colleges or we would be happy to help you work with your academic advisor to set up an Independent Study project at your school.
Outward Bound accepts AmeriCorps Awards! How Can I Receive Academic Credit for an Outward Bound expedition? To receive high school or college academic credit for Outward Bound expeditions, you can choose from two options:

NOTE: Receiving Academic Credit/preparing an Independent Study requires additional study before, during, and after the course. Students must be motivated and take initiative in order to receive academic credit.
