My name is Frank Reddick and I went on the May 23 Mountaineering
course in 2002 in the northern San Juan mountains. It was
an amazing experience for me, because I have come full circle
in the past 10 years. I went on an Outward Bound course when
I was 14 in the Cascade Range in northern Washington, and
I was the runt of the group, moaning, whining, and complaining
the whole time. It's amazing that my instructors put up with
me! This time, 10 years later, I really enjoyed my experience,
increased my love for the outdoors, and felt more like an
encourager and leader in my group. The Outward Bound experience
11 years ago planted a seed of courage, determination, and
a love for the outdoors in me that has finally come to fruition.
A warning to any prospective Outward Bound student: to go
on one of these courses means that you will be changed forever
and become a crazy outdoor enthusiast like one of your instructors!
