My name is Melinda Milton, I went on an Outward Bound course
in 1999. It was one of the most life changing experiences
I've had. I will never forget the people I met and the experiences
I shared with others. I had an incredible instructor to whom
I feel if he wouldn't of been there to say the things he said
to encourage me to surpass my fears, that I wouldn't of been
able to survive the expedition.
Sadly I had to say good bye to all my new found friends and
unfortunately haven't heard from any since. I know just like
me, that even if we haven't talked since the trip, still we
share those special moments, laughs, cries and determination
to reach our final destination then go home to look at life
from a different aspect. I myself felt more confident, stronger
mentally, physically and felt more compassionate towards family,
friends and especially for mother nature.
With my new strength and inner confidence boost I went back
to high school and did better than I had done since elementary
school. I miss a lot of the friends I had shared so many personal
experiences with and find my self thinking about them often.
I just think that it is such a great experience that I wish
I could share with so many people, sadly half the people I
converse to about my trip don't truly understand where I am
coming from, that to is another flaw I have came across since
departing from my adventure.
Thanks so much for hearing me out.
