Working for Outward Bound
Outward Bound: MTV Real World Home

Ann Grace:

Q: What day on your Outward Bound course was your favorite? My favorite day was the day that we climbed to the summit and then back down. Everyone really bonded, and we had a great time. It felt really awesome to accomplish what we were working on the entire trip by climbing the mountain. Also, that night we had the pin ceremony, and it was a really emotional experience. I was so proud to get the pin, and it felt great to have everyone together, and supporting each other.

Q: What moment on your Outward Bound course are you most proud of? I am most proud of when I got to the summit, and everyone was together in a big group. Also, I was really proud when I got the Outward Bound pin from Jen on the last night.

Q: What was most challenging about your Outward Bound course? How did you overcome it? Definitely the first day we hiked up the mountain, because it was really steep. Also, it started thunder storming. Basically, I just told myself that I had to go to camp sometime, and it should be sooner than later. I sort of pushed myself forward… if that makes any sense.

Q: What is the funniest thing that happened on course? Omg, there are so many… when Ashley had to be carried down the mountain, and taken to the hospital, and all of this drama happened, and all she did was go to the hospital for an hour, then get pizza and watch movies, and we all thought she had like died… Chris and his team meetings… Tyrie and his random yelling of BOYYY… me and Alex losing our pee rags, that was gross though… Margo and Davis singing… Brooke being Brooke, no offense at all… I can’t think of anymore, but there is a lot more. Basically, it was really fun.

Q: What was the coolest thing you saw while on course in Colorado? Definitely, the view from the summit, and everyone at the end of the trip covered in mud.

Q: How did you react when you found out you were going on an Outward Bound course filmed by The Real World?
I was so excited, I had no idea something like that would happen to me.

Q: What’s it like to have camera’s filming your every move?
It was very weird, and I never really got used to it. I kept telling myself that I had to look good in front of the camera, but by the end, I was just whatever about it. It was kind of fun after a while, but it definitely took some getting used to.

Q: What would you say to another student getting ready to go on an Outward Bound course?
I would say to be ready to step out of your comfort zone for a little while, and to keep an open attitude throughout the trip. Otherwise, it just won’t be fun.

Q: Who was your favorite Outward Bound intern (a.k.a. Real World Roommate) and why?
Jenn, because she says rad a lot.

Q: What was the most important thing you learned on your Outward Bound course and how do you apply it to your life?
Things that are tough or hard to accomplish, end up being more rewarding.

Q: What was your favorite meal?
Definitely the SPAGHETTI|! I have to brag about this a little bit, because I made it along with Chris.

Q: How is your life different now that you have gone on an Outward Bound course?

I learn to appreciate everything more… not only showers and microwaves and stuff, but also nature, and good friends.

Q: Have you kept in touch with any of your coursemates?

I’ve kept in touch with everyone except Ashley O, because I lost her number by accident!
