“Beyond the Moorings” Book by Gerald L. Golins Author Jerry Golins is releasing and signing his new book, “Beyond the Moorings” on April 21, 2006. The book portrays the journey of one of Outward Bound’s strongest advocates from student to instructor, course and project director, and finally Executive Director of the Colorado Outward Bound School. This story of challenge, experience, and growth uncovers a perspective of Outward Bound in not only a programmatic sense, but also from spiritual and methodological angles. From the value-forming experiences gained as a young adult to his leadership in the boardroom, Jerry’s story paints a historic picture of one of Outward Bound’s greatest legacy schools and his personal journey along the way. Jerry Golins served as Executive Director of the Colorado Outward Bound School from 1980-1985. Jerry is credited with starting Outward Bound Professional and advancing “adaptive” programming to Outward Bound.
