Outward Bound featured in College Preview Magazine

College Preview Magazine recently listed some of the top leadership programs for college students in the nation for their May 2007 issue and they highlighted Outward Bound Wilderness as one of them. Read the excerpt below:

Outward Bound Wilderness

Perhaps the most unique leadership–development program in the United States, Outward Bound Wilderness takes students into the wild to meet their limitations and fears head-on. Outward Bound focuses on development leadership skills by forcing students outside of their comfort zones both mentally and physically.

Challenges include hiking, white water rafting and rock climbing. Each day included team obstacles as well as a solo… Nightly huddles at camp include discussions concerning tolerance, judgment the differences between group and self-reliance and building on weaknesses as well as strengths. Topics covered by group leaders on each trip include what constitutes responsible leadership and the concept of sensible self-denial.

Courses range from weekends to entire semesters, with two week courses being the most popular. Over five hundred courses from Alaska to Texas guarantee leadership training combined with natural beauty. For more information visit www.outwardboundwilderness.org
