On Friday, June 25, 2004 Outward Bound was featured on CNN Financial News’ “Your Money.” The live segment focused on summer adventure and highlighted Outward Bound President, John Read as he discussed the diverse Outward Bound course options available.
Showing video clips of Outward Bound course areas around the nation, Read discussed with CNNfn host Ali Velshi what students could expect on course including an opportunity for adventure, challenge and personal reflection and growth.
“Most importantly you learn (on an Outward Bound course) something about your own capabilities and your own possibilities for the rest of your life,” said John Read. “We see the mountain as a challenge, but also as a metaphor… something to learn from….we take you out of your comfort zone and put you in front of a challenge in a safe way that shows you what you are capable of.”
