Why did you choose to join Outward Bound? I first took a 21 day Ocean Adventure course in Canada in 2001, and it peaked my interest in outdoor education. Then in 2003 as I began to contemplate the option more, I was a student on an Alaska Semester where I came to the realization that this is what I wanted to do. Ever since that summer I've been working for Outward Bound. I am excited and thrilled to continue my work with OB as I know what it did for me and I hope that I can contribute to another person's life in positive and encouraging way as well. I have been working in the Southwest Program in Utah and have a love for the desert, whether it's in the canyons or on the water, it's the best! I typically work with 14 to 16 year olds on whitewater rafting sections and spectacular canoeing as well. I look forward to working more in the mountains and canyons as well - LOVE IT!!
What's the most rewarding aspect of working for Outward Bound? In random order... The looks on the faces of students arriving atcourse start, usually wonder, excitement, and pure confusion (especially when you tell them about playing toilet tag) My office is the coolest, sunrises and sunsets you can't beat and the view isn't half bad either. My students are the world, and seeing the evolution of their skill and confidence in themselves and the bonds they develop is priceless.
