Why did you choose to join Outward Bound? I was a student on a Rockies Wilderness Leadership Semester course and was sold on Outward Bound's ideals and philosophies.
What are your favorite moments on course? Course end ceremony (pin ceremony); students start putting together and realizing the enormity of what they've learned and begin to verbalize where their journey has taken them and where it will take them in the future.
Tell us about a recent accomplishment or adventure: While traveling in Ecuador last January, I experienced an unplanned Andean trek as a result of the roads being barricaded in protest of the increasing gas and bus prices. It was an intimate way to see the country and meet the native people while following a woman blindly in order to get back to Quito. We also climbed Mt. Cayembe and Cotopaxi.
What's a little known fact about you? I'm a geek for sociobiology (studying how human behaviors evolve from non-human animal behaviors).
Do you get any specific cravings while you are on course? Lazy summer days in a hammock reading a book.
